Prabhas's father passes away

Producer Suryanarayana Raju, who has made several films under his home banner Gopi Krishna Pictures, passed away this morning. He is the father of actor Prabhas. Krishnaveni, Amaradeepam, Bhaktha Kannappa are some of the successful films produced by him.

Mr. Raju is the brother of Krishnam Raju, a thespian. He has been suffering with some healty ailments for the past few days, and has been undergoing treatment at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad.

His last rites will be performed at the Panjagutta funeral grounds this evening. Several industry representatives have mourned the death of the producer.

Also, several actors and filmmakers made a visit to Prabhas' home and offered him condolences.

Prabhas' Darling In Finishing Stages

Darling starring Prabhas directed by Karunakaran is wrapping up the last schedule. The climax will be completed in a day or two and two songs are left to be picturised.

It is being made under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Cinechitra India (P) Ltd. GV Prakash Kumar scores music, editing is by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and cinematography is by Andrew.

Ahuti Prasad plays the heroine's father. He also plays the hero's father in Pokuri Babu Rao's movie and the heroine's father in Siddharth starrer Bava.

Yester year’s beauty queen Rajani has come into the picture once again. She is acting as Dr Indira in a TV serial and also hitting media channels giving interviews. Freshly in a TV interview she came out with her opinions on present days films and artistes.

Prabhas with foreign fighters at Bangkok

Young rebel star Prabhas’s ongoing flick under Karunakaran’s direction will begin its new schedule at Bangkok from January 21st. This schedule will continue for 10 days at a stretch where a fight sequence involving foreign fighters will be canned under the choreography of stunt master Peter Heynes. The makers say that this is going to be the main highlight of the film.

BVSN Prasad is producing this flick under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra India Pvt., Ltd. He says, “After delivering a super hit like ‘Chatrapathi’ with Prabhas, this is yet another film coming under our banner with huge budget. We have so far completed 70 % of the shoot at Switzerland, Araku and Hyderabad respectively. After completing the Bangkok schedule, we will wrap up the shooting part at Hyderabad. This is going to be a different romantic commercial entertainer in Prabhas’s career. Karunakaran, who earlier directed super hits like ‘Tholi Prema’ and ‘Ullasamga Uthsahamga’, is shaping this film in an excellent manner. This movie, releasing in March is sure to be yet another super hit under our banner.”

While Kajal Agarwal is pairing with Prabhas, Tamil actor Prabhu is playing his father. GV Prakash Kumar (AR Rahman’s nephew) is composing the tunes, camera is handled by Andrews and editing is done by Kotagiri.

Karunakaran is directing Prabhas for Sri Venkateswara Cinechitra India (P) Ltd. Peter Hein will be composing a fight that has foreign fighters and directing it from Jan 21st onwards at Bangkok. Seventy percent of the film has been so far completed. Kajal is the heroine and Tamil star Prabhu plays an important role. GV Prakash Kumar scores music, editing is by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and cinematography is by Andrew. It is slated for a March 2010 release.
